App idea development and a reminder about upcoming Interviews/Parent Conferences, Mr. P Book Talk model with Lois Lowry's The Giver

This is a shot of the class working on the ideas for the IOS apps.  There have been three ideas proposed, but we do not seem to have enough students for them.  The third idea was conceived by Ken, who is currently on a family vacation.

Please return your request for Interviews times to me, as soon as possible.  Once I have your requests for times -- either on Thursday evening or Friday morning -- I will verify your time.  If you require a time outside of February 11 or 12, please let me know by writing in the agenda, or sending an email to me at proudfoot.marc@gmail.com.

This is a copy of an assignment that was given out several weeks ago.  This sheet, which is a part of the Book Talk assignment, is a sample of a novel I have picked to model for the students.  The book is called The Giver by Lois Lowry.

The sheet you see is due on February 19.  It is meant to serve as a guide for the larger assignment.  The end of February is fast approaching.  By now, all students should be at least at the 50%, or further, mark of their novels.

Here is the cover the the novel I am using:

Another example of the importance of commas:

The comma collage is due tomorrow.
