I think there are only 14 more school days left in the year.  We will be working right up until the last moment of the year.  Please remind your son or daughter that now is not the time to slack off!!

There is a small Dance and Movement assignment we are doing in class.  We have four groups of students who will be working together to create a movement performance based on some of the Elements of Dance found in the curriculum.  They are also using some of the movements we are learning about in Geometry.  Here is the planning sheet they are using and a couple of quick shots of a group in practice and making notes on what to do.

There are a number of students who have not completed the Diorama project.  It was due last Monday and an extension was given until yesterday (Thursday, June 6).  This is due on Monday.

Here is a link from Google images of an array of samples of Dioramas:

Here are some photos of the finished projects taken at various angles to highlight their artistic nature.  Some projects had more thought and effort put into them than others:

There are still 6 projects which need to be handed in.

I have a video with Sandro explaining the concept of Translation.  After that, there is a video of the class responding to the funny video I posted below.  It summarizes what we have started, and will continue to do, in Geometry.

We had a couple of presentations last week.  One was an important presentation on the implications of online behaviour.  Here is an image which summarizes the presentation:

The other presentation were from a group of Co-Op students in the TDSB who created a series of short films based on the Ojibway 8th Fire prophecy.  Here is from a related clip from a documentary on the prophecy:

Here are a few photos (not a great ones) of the presenters:

I did not assign any homework this weekend, but should have, for some assignments that will be wrapping up over the next two to three weeks of school.  Have a good weekend.

One final thing:

The cost of the Grade 8 Grad lunch is $10.  The date has changed from the one on this form, but I do not remember it right now.  The money is due ASAP.
